This report is the result of a survey of more than twenty companies that have been removed from the National Mining Association and the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity’s membership list web pages. This report details the results of that survey, including responses from each company that confirmed its departure from ACCCE or NMA. There is a growing isolation reflected in the declining lobbying spending of the US coal industry’s principal lobby groups by over half in 2 years. Moreover, ACCCE and NMA have both lost major member companies in recent years because those companies opposed the coal lobby groups’ attacks on policies aimed at addressing climate change.
